Whole Life Insurance Coverage

Designed to last you whole life.

Final Expense Life Insurance provides a death benefit, typically somewhere between $2,000 up to $50,000 for those who qualify, that your family can use to pay for your final expenses when the time comes.

Common questions about Life Insurance:

  • We work with some of the top carriers in your area and as an independent brokerage we can compare rates from these carriers to find the best coverage and value tailored to your needs.

Insurance companies we work with include: Aetna, Mutual of Omaha, American Amicable, TransAmerica, Corebridge Financial and Americo.

  • Term Life Insurance often costs less each month and suits temporary needs, but premiums are level only for the chosen term (often 10, 15, or 20 years). After that, the policy typically expires or renews at much higher rates based on factors like your current age and/or health.

Whole Life Insurance provides coverage for your entire life (as long as premiums are paid). Premiums stay level, the death benefit is guaranteed, and it builds cash value over time that you may borrow against or withdraw (subject to policy terms and conditions).

At the end of the day, the policy in force at your death is the one that protects your family. That's why I recommend Whole Life Insurance for final expense planning.

  • No, you do not need a medical exam to apply for Final Expense Life insurance.

Most plans are simplified issue, meaning you answer a few basic health questions and provide your age, height, and weight to help determine if you qualify. No doctor's visit, blood tests, or exam required. Based on your answers and available medical history, you may qualify for coverage under a Preferred, Standard, or Modified/Graded rate class (or be declined).

For those with serious health issues, guaranteed-issue options are available with no health questions and near-guaranteed approval (subject to restrictions like age limits). These policies generally include a 2 year waiting period during which the full death benefit is not available, but instead a lower graded benefit is in place. Full benefits usually apply after 2 years.

  • The amount of Final Expense Life insurance you need depends on your specific end-of-life costs and preferences, but these policies are designed for smaller, targeted coverage—typically up to $50,000, with most people choosing $10,000 to $25,000.

We can walk you through average costs in your area to help you determine your exact needs, but in general to get an idea of how much you need, factor in your final wishes (burial vs. cremation), location, existing savings, and adjust for inflation over time.

The right amount of insurance will not only help enable your family to fulfil your final wishes, but will also help them avoid a financial burden during a difficult time.
